31th IJCIEOM – International Joint Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management

June 23-25, 2025 – Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy

“Redesigning industrial systems towards a Sustainable, Resilient, and Human-Centric future in the digital era”

This year, all approved IJCIEOM papers will be published in a Springer book and indexed in Scopus.

OBJECTIVES

The general objectives of the IJCIEOM – International Joint Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (2025) are:

  • To promote researchers networking as a way to exchange ideas and approaches that contribute to the development of Industrial Engineering and Management from a scientific and industrial perspective.
  • To present advances in industrial engineering and operations management, and their applications to companies.
  • To maintain the level of excellence of previous conferences, in such a way that their publications (proceedings, books and journals) continue to be the best reference in this field.
  • To strengthen the national and international exchange relationships for investigators from recognized universities and research institutions.
  • Provide an opportunity for PhD students to present their current research and to discuss their findings with Senior Academics in their respective fields.
The twin transition, involving digital and circular factors, urgently asks for a systemic change that involves the reconfiguration in the design of products, systems, business models, consumption patterns, and supply chains. Digital technologies play a strategic role in this path, requiring to be adequately deployed and employed in companies’ organizations and processes. In this scenario, different working profiles and roles characterized by new skills are needed. Indeed, industrial and logistic systems need a new sustainable and digital-driven approach to be capable of ensuring a higher equipment effectiveness through a safe, reliable, and efficient management of data and information. In addition, this would enable operators and managers to process cognitive actions and improve the degree of human-machine interaction, becoming effectively integrated with production systems through the adoption and exploitation of digital technologies. Finally, new assessment methods are needed to measure the progresses towards circularity and ensure the reaching of the Net-Zero goals, while supply chain cooperation becomes crucial for the effective realization of servitized and circular strategies, as companies become more joined through closed loops and industrial symbiosis dynamics.
